OK Maybe not.... Fished Newport, bait everywhere in the harbour, outside around 130-150 feet was tons of the squirts. Bass WFO from Pelican to CDM and a few of these guys hitting the dropper loops. Attachment 10033 Attachment 10034 Attachment 10035 |

We use to call 'em Ronkies. Nobody would eat them as everyone said they had worms/parasites.
|
I don't see a barbel under the chin so its a White Croaker, definetly not good to eat. I do see some people taking them home though
check out the food value and comments on the bottom: http://www.pierfishing.com/fish_of_t...tecroaker.html . |
come on!
its a chupacabra, I know because it was yelling at me in spanish to toss em back. :D
|
Its not the parasites you should be worried about....I seen billboards of the croakers being contaminated for years in 3 different languages, but people still eat em.
|
those sharks
put up a decent fight . hooked one on a jig with squid recently . my first thought was here it is , a 68 lb wsb . 6- 8 minutes into the fight i realized something is not right . needless to say those things can get very massive , and this one was not small by any means.
|
squirts meaning squid?
