SD bay/Mission bay
Has anybody had success lately in SD bay for halibut? I have been doing well out at mission bay, but I was thinking about trying san diego bay. I was thinking maybe head out of shoreline park?

I would launch from tidelands and paddle up passed the ferry landing and drift my way back. Long sandy stretch right there.

I'm launching from Spanish landing around 6-30am this Saturday if your down? Helped gaff this 40"+ Hali near there couple weeks ago....

I'll be headed out tomorrow after work. Sometime between 1 pm and 3. I want to catch the tide coming in and fish until the tide starts heading out.

Can't even tell you how many halibut are hitting in mission bay...work structures and mouths.

I might go out sunday morning, too.

Might head out on Saturday, but not sure if I will have a working bait tank by then. Lost inlet tube at SCI Islander Trip. What VHF channel?

Yesterday I was out in a twenty foot Striper fishing SD Bay at high tide in afternoon. Certainly not for the yak it was windy and bumpy. We got micro chovie and sardines were huge. I got hooked up good on sardine once but it came off. If I go out today I am going to use a trap rig set up. I had several baits really racked good but my bad on not using a bigger hook with the bigger sardine and a trap rig. The butts are out there and those with real talent I am sure will get em. We were getting bit in 15 foot of water. They are here! Also last week off PB we were in the Striper working a squid bed hoping for a WSB. We watched Brandon formerly of WON on his Parker get a nice 25# halibut on live squid! Good luck go get em!
