San Diego Bay 4/7/13
Spotty Report April 07, 2013 San Diego Bay
Another great day out on the big bay with Jarrod today.:reel: The Spottys were on fire upon arrival & the entire day, too bad we only gave it a half day go..Wanted to get some time in before this next front..Throwing the same rig pearl Z-Man PaddlerZ, on a silver Slayers jig. (Clarity was off so I didn't throw the bad shad.) Toward the end of the day I got absolutely slammed working a sloping hill into a deep channel where live bait was popping. Working the bottom vertically two or three times to entice the marks below and POW! It was game on...got her to the surface and she was my biggest Spotty ever..fifty thousand head shakes, and it tore a hole big enough to come unbuttoned..:farmer:I don't think she got the memo that clearly stated 'each & every Spotty shall be released'.... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HS9jpnz466k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Heres just one of many that were C&R'ed today.. http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall.../Picture_8.jpg • |
Nice Spotties! Where did you launch from this time?
I had all intentions of getting down to the Coronado Yacht Club area, but the vegetable garden needed tending and planting out for the spring/summer vegetables that will accompany some future catches on the dinner plate... |
Im doing the same with the garden too, Kai!
Only I somehow find time not to let it interrupt my fishing.. We did a Tidelands launch..:reel: |
NICE! Do those Z-Mans have a hook slot? I so need to get out on the water, but todays wind forecast scared me off. Next week for sure.

(I also pack it with Unibutter after rigged..) Z-Man has numerous baits with hook-slots including their new worm designed by FLW Tour Pro Luke Clausen called the FattyZ :reel: Good thing the forecast scared you off, cause' the winds surly would have today!..... |

OK, I'll bite, with my son out-fishing me (he's 9) I need all the help I can get. can you PM or post a picture of the paddlerZ rigged up and where do you 'stuff' unibutter, plus why would you need the uni-butter if its already scented (or is this one not scented)...thanks Capt. Wade. |
Nice bass again wade! Gotta go fish bass more often...I always had so much fun catchn those things. Wonder if ol' huntington harbor still bites....Too bad there isn't a OEX bass tournament anymore, those were always alot of good food and alot of fun.

Double digit days.. The baits last way longer than the Pro-Cure scent does, so just as most re-apply their preferred scents' throughout the day, I restuff the next outing.. • • Quote:
Thanks Tony, you driving down to Pomas for that samich? There's only on way to find out...:paddleersmilie::reel: |
Nice job wade! I love bass fishing!! Hit me up some time and we'll take the skiff out.
|

Remember not to combine your regular plastics with ElaZtech. Z-Man's formula is much different and will melt if placed with regular plastics. Put them back in their plastic bags to recharge the pro-cure gel or use a separate tackle box for ElaZtech. ElaZtech will not dry out like gulp. Fortunately, I dont have this problem, as I only use Z-Man. |
I work until Thursday then practice for Saturdays SBS tourney outta mission bay. Next moon phase lets hunt some ghosts.
