Bait tank prime question
Does anyone know where i can pick up a cheap primer bulb? I found it at walmart for $18 but that seems like allot for that little thing.

Do you really think you're going to need it? If its really necessary look at your setup and compare it to those that don't use priming bulbs, one simple change could mean the difference.

Get a 2' section of tubing at Home Depot about the same diameter as the outlet on your pump and prime it using your lungs...
See, I kept it clean... |
my last pump needed to be primed,, what a pain in the butt.... i tried a gas line bulb primer and it ended up not working well if at all, ended up using a long piece of silicone tubing from a pet shop that i would siphon water and curl it in the bottom of my bucket tank when water was flowing.. used it for years and FINALLY got one you just throw over the side and turn the switch on.. highly recommend getting a self priming one.

How do the ones on the stealth models prime them selves? I got the same one, the tsunami 500 running off a 12v
|
On the Stealths the pump is mounted below the waterline. No need to prime.

the impeller needs to be below the waterline or you could add a pick up tube like Hobie uses. A little forward momentum is all you need to force water up to impeller. Once primed it should stay primed.
