Something is bogus?

Pic is not a hobie. Mirage drive is around five biguns new. Specs posted don't line up with any hobie peddle drives. ? Anyone else have a thought? I am using phone right now so I will keep it short.

I've seen this ad up for months(not 1-2, like 7-8). I'm not sure if he's gone down in price since I first saw it but if it hasn't then that might be some indication that it's overpriced.

Looks like an old Classic. I would save your money for something bigger.

My suggestion: Don't buy it!! For a little more money you can pick up a fully rigged kayak.

X2 the FHS is just aroud the bend, keep saving your cash and a few days before the show exchange it for security tokens.

Yep, it's a Hobie mirage classic. It's the original mirage drive boat I believe. I've seen a couple still out on the water but have no first hand knowledge of them. The price seems high for such an old kayak. Here is a little info I found on the Hobie forum

before my time

my bad. hatch looked all wrong. v1 mirage drive . stay away from this one.

it is a hobie mirage classic, i have one of these i picked up about 4 years ago for $600, and i've seen them since then for even lower than that, this guy is WAY overpriced.

these kayaks have a tendency to just randomly flip with no warning, the one we have has flipped at least 3 or 4 times on perfectly flat water sitting still (only once with me in it). there aren't any real good places to mount anything and the rudder on ours has issues going up/down. we've had to replace the handle once or twice becuase it took so much force to move.

stay away. unless you can get him to halve the price, then it would be a good backup/loaner.
