Lowrance rebates Says no to west marine
 

I purchased a 5HDS gen from West Marine in late June. I received a letter saying from Lowrance, saying west marine is an invalid retailer!!! WTH?

must be a mistake?!!

I bought it from a major retailer, it had a $50.00 rebate....


So i called the number on the letter 866-652-9511.


They confirmed by saying Lowrance say No to West Marine Rebate purchases...



They told me to call Lowrance directly at 800-324-1356...



I called.. closed for the day...

I had BPS price match West Marine...got it on 6-pay too.

Did West advertise the rebate when you purchased it?

If so take it back to the store and ask for a refund, either for for the amount of the rebate, or full purchase price.

If they used the rebate as a promotion to sell it to you, and Lowrance did not authorize them to do so, it's their mistake and they either need to reimburse you the amount of the rebate or refund your money.

Yeah, that 6pay sure takes the sting off. I've been using it for a long time now, soo many goodies I'd normally pass on are now out in the garage, hehe. :)

I have the complete original ad still. I had to go back and forth with BPS to get the to price match...when I canceled the order they came back and offered to match it. It was on backorder for a long time, I barely installed it yesterday. I kept the flyer just in case. It's yours if you need it.

I called Lowrance and they said that West marine is doing the rebate over the counter...


Lowrance instructed me to take my receipt to the West Marine Store and they will reimburse me the lowrance mail in rebate $50.00.

Wth?

So i called the store manager at west marine and he told me he will give me a call back...

Which West Marine did you go to?

So Marina Del Rey, West Marine calls me back saying that not true. We are the largest Lowrance retail distributor....

He said, he will give me call back on Friday, after he contacts corporate and lowrance.

Sounds like one of the following is true:

1. You're the only guy who bought one of them there.

2. You're the only guy who applied for the rebate.

3. You're the only guy whose rebate got messed up. Or...

4. There's a vast global conspiracy aimed squarely at you.



(I'd bet it gets sorted out in no time.)

weird on the west marine thing
they have treated me well in the past

i recently bought the Elite-4 Gold so it comes with the navionics microSD card...well the card provided in the package is at least 2 times larger then the insert. Called west marine and the kid at the counter had no clue what i was talking about and deferred my problem to a single employee, that may know, but wont be back till Tuesday i think he said?

The Store manager ended up calling lowrance, lowrance opened up a claim. One week later, rebate.
