Just thought I share the view from the ocean front as I stood there wishing I was on the ocean trying to catch some yellowtail and white sea bass.

Do you have a super tele-photo lens? If so, what type of bait were they using? How about depth? How about line and hook size? Were they drifting or slow trolling?;)

my question is.. how far out is that from shore? i dont have a hobie so i want to know how much my arms are going to hurt.

well that's not a mile I don't think, should be ok on the arms, unless you are towing a couple of large model YTs back....

Thats not from launch. Looks more from the hills.

Lol... I have no tele-photo lens. Wish I had some binoculars or a scope to see what they using for bait or which irons. I been out here twice and its a different view from the hills/hotel view. Let's just say the kelps are all around, estimated depth ~90 to 100ft. About 30 to 45 mins of paddling from the launch at the shore of LJ next to the OEX kayak rental. Someone correct me on this if necessary.

My fiance surprise me with a relaxing day in La Jolla. I kept peeking out the window and at about 11ish, everyone scramble and not too many kayakers left on the waters. If you stay parallel to the white tall condo, from what others are talking about is the fishing normal fishing ground.

Here's a more detail picture and non zoom version.
