Decisions????

I'm just about to buy a yak but I'm not sure if I should get a used one or a new one. The thing is, I know I can get a nice used one but what if it leaks later down the road or something is there no warrantys on yaks and it would be a waste of money. If I were to buy it new it wouldn't leave me with much money for the upgrades I would like.

i'm betting. . .

an honest & motivated seller of a kayak would let you test "drive" the yak. You should paddle it around on the water to confirm that it does what it's supposed to do (that the extras work) and that it takes in minimal water.

Ok yeah that sounds like it makes sense, the only thing is I really don't know shit about kayaking "yet" so basically I think I'm going to learn the hard way and feel I'm going to take a loss on my first yak

A simple thorough visual inspection will disclose any major problems in a used kayak. Look for wear on the keel and check scuppers and seat area.

Ok, but I seen on here about a patch job on some tiny holes that are barely visible what about a situation like that? Is there any way that the patch work will wear out or fall out?

someone in SD or OC

Hook this young fellow up.

Help him make a good choice on a yak. This one looks good to me. . .

Super stable, a proven design, and it will almost catch fish by itself.

Some times a garden hose in side the kayak will show you if it leaks. Mike

I've been fishing for a long time and recently got into kayak fishing (about 6 months) and i was in the same predicament. I decided to go the used route and scored a malibu pro explorer for around 300 greenbacks... And the guy thru in some extras... Granted the yak was not in pristine condition, but it was in decent condition... It's not the fastest boat, but its stable as hell. Considering it was my first kayak, that's what I needed...

Just commit and do a thurough inspection of the vessel... Should you decide to go used... Good luck and tight lines to you.

Welcome to the forum...

Ok got the x factor with a Cuda 350s still need a seat and paddle does anyone have a hook up?

Big T 05-13-2012 07:26 AM

Enjoy the ride man! I would fall asleep on that thing during an all night WSB run... super stable.... I never got wet and would get on my knees to take a leak and climb all over it while moving stuff around with the utmost of confidence... You seriously have the most stable yak out there... well next to a PA anyway... but then again, Well... it'a a PA. LOL

Contact Corey on the site for a potential cheap "right now" option for a seat and paddle just to get you out there fishing.

I will get those instructions and pouch out to you asap.

Thanks for the chat last night and sorry if I seemed rushed in any way, but my wife was texting me and in heat... HAD to get home.
