help on buying the right rack

I have a stealth 14 and I just bought a outlander sport. What is the best rack to buy?

Whatever is on sale

Save yourself a sh*t load of money and buy a used one.

I wanted a rack that would look good on my new car and be quiet enough that Id be happy to leave it on all the time. Have a Ford Edge... installed factory rails myself (after the dealer wanted $180 for 2hr labor for a job that took me 30 mins w hand tools ha), then got Yakima whisbars and mako aero kayak mounts. I buy a lot of used tackle but didnt want to skimp on the rack. Yakima and Thule both have good websites where you can start by entering your car model. If you want to keep a slick profile and have rails already or can add them, the whisbar setup is tops for under 100 lbs. If noise is a factor for you, rule out door mounted towers and mount something atop rails even if you have to order em.

Thule aero bars. The main company in Sweden but each country has its own company and manfacturing. The bars and saddles you buy here are made in the us. Plus thule bars are square not round like yakima so when you go to load your boat the saddles don't rotate.
