Hello everyone,

My name is Sonn, this is my first post and my first yak...

It's a stealth 14, used from CL...

Been reading a little bit on here. want to get it wet already :drool5: But there seems to be some missing parts, wondering do I need them to be safely on the water.

One missing drain plug for the center well and one rear drain plug on top? Are these components necessary, would it start taking on too much water?

hhahah can't wait to get this thing out there...

Take some photos and post them here, or better yet email an OEX near you and get the parts ordered. They may even have em in stock to swing by on the way to the water.

In general, if there is a hole that will allow water to enter the main hull, I wouldn't risk it. If the holes are beneath sealable hatches, you're fine as they are for plumbing of bait tank and such...just use the hatch with caution and secure tightly during launch/landings.

Perfect! Looks like it's a must to hit up Sunset beach... seems like the closest one to me at least... I need to get at least 2 plugs, while I'm there I gotta check out the goodies... and maybe leave with something else in the other hand.. :luxhello:

You dont have to have the plug in the tank, unless you do not want any water in it. The rear drain plug is a must, although it sits well above the water line and I did take my X 13 out once in LJ without mine in and never got any water inside. They cost $4.95

Are you referring to the scupper holes? The scuppers allow water that naturally splashes into the seating and tankwell area to drain. I only plug the two in the seat and the two by my knees so my ass doesn't get wet. I leave the drains at my get open and the tank well open so it drains. If you have the 45° angled hatch in the back, leaving those back scupppers could cause the hatch to get swamped with water if your tsnkwell doesnt drain.

I will probably use a cork to seal the rear drain for Saturday morning and stop by OEX in the afternoon.

Thought I'd update my thread on my yak! Was out there on the water in Newport Harbor and was tied up chillin', actually resting from paddling against the current.:luxhello:

with the wind and current some beautiful fishing there though...

Careful of the Sirens of the Sea, they may lead you to sunken chests though, so it may be a good thing...especially if they are worth their weight in gold...
