SOMETHING'S FISHY INDEED!!!
PERHAPS I'VE MISCONSTRUED/MISREAD SOMETHING, BUT SEEING THE REFERENCED BANNER FLASH ACROSS THE TOP OF THE BWE WEBSITE (AND CHECKING OUT THE VIEWS NOTED ON THE LINKED WEBSITE) SUGGESTS A WELL-FUNDED SPONSORING GROUP PAID FOR THIS AD - A GROUP WHICH, IF NOT MISTAKEN, HOLDS THE SAME PERSPECTIVE AS THAT HELD BY THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR FUNDING THE MLPAS (YOU KNOW, THOSE NEWLY-ESTABLISHED NO-FISH ZONES THAT ULTIMATELY MAKE IT TOUGH FOR ME/YOU - AND MY/YOUR CHILDREN - TO KAYAK FISH ALONG OUR COAST).
WHO OUT THERE CAN CLAIRIFY, AND IF SUSPICIONS ARE CORRECT, EXPLAIN THE RATIONALE FOR BWE'S DISPLAY OF THIS AD? AVERY |
Avery,
they're Google Ads frames... BWE has started doing it to help pay the bills with the ongoing web hosting cost, LJ Webcam ISP bill, and so on. By no means BWE supports their message. But we do have the ability to ban any particular ads from appearing on BWE, once we know what to ban. We've promptly done it with these guys. We also backed out of having bigger Google Ads below the header navbar, now that we see that "the other side" with deep pockets is utilizing Google Ads to spread their message on fishing related web sites. As soon as you see any "not wanted" adds/URLs in any of the google Ads frames, take a note of the URL and just let me or any of the mods know - we'll take it down right away. Thanks Corey for reporting it!!! |
...and I took the link out of your post Avery. ;)
Not much to see there gang - environmentalists seeing things their way... |
Cool, Admin.

Way to keep an eye out, "look who's killing our oceans" give me a break...
that should have read "look who I have been brain washed into believing, who's killing my ocean" thanks for emptying the trash! |
Gotta love the photoshop too. Same boat X4 to show "overfishing" -exactly like thier science based studies. :icon_bs:

From what i know on some Google ads everytime someone opens it to look at it. The poster of the ad has to pay a fee to Google. Is that correct with this ad as well??? If it is maybe we all should start clicking on the ad till they run out of money and go broke :luxhello: ...

But that would not be good idea. Google being Google - they keep an eye on click patterns, they detect things like that. If they do, they adjust billing to their advertisers accordingly. Plus it could get us in trouble with Google, if we were to bring their ad back and encourage people to click on it. |
Don't be affraid to let other websites know that they have this deceptive ad running on Google Adworks. I got Windfinder.com to remove it within a few hours after I pointed it out to them and gave them the url from the ad.
|
I also went to Google Adworks direct to leave them the same message. Here is the link to make it quick and easy.

Something Fishy
Adi, thanks for removing the link and explaining this disturbing practice. There's a story here that should be told - as if "winning" wasn't enough, our adversaries rub our noses in it by posting ads that continue to promote a distorted view of reality. Was under the impression it was "game over", but given their apparent sense of need for an ad campaign, perhaps there's another chapter to this nauseating drama.
