For those of you who have asked what you need as far as gear goes here are some pics of my setup. Keep in mind that this is just the gear, you still need bait, gauges, report cards, lights....etc. Make sure you know the DFG Regulations, they will not give you a chance when you're being inspected.

90+ degs and you guys are already talking lobster. So whos putting up their Christmas lights next weekend? :biggrinjester:

Very cool setup, especially the storage box. The light stick inserted in top bouy, does it really give you enough light to see bouy in chop at night?.Try using a clear jug(milk,oj) with a handle, tie jug to top bouy and insert light stick. It will give you a consant 180 degree light at all times. The light stick on top bouy will weigh the bouy on its side thus light will not give you a consant 180 degree veiw.

Funny you should say that.....have you been to Costco? The one in Norwalk already has Christmas items for sale.

The two holes in the bouy on the "bottom" or oppisite side of the light... it is rebar or other balast weight to keep the light upwards at all times, only takes a second to do and works like a charm, and no extra jugs or other crap to deal with on the little bug killing machine.

The storage box serves as a storage unit in the summer and a roach motel in the winter.

Yes, it does.

The milk jugs work but that's just more junk you have to carry on board.

The bottom of the buoy has two 4oz sinkers hammered into it. These help the buoy stay right side up which in turn keeps the glow stick right side up the entire time.
