Do the bonito ever show close to home (i.e. right outside of harbors) i know SD harbor always has a few but i mean are there ever some great days with oc and north of there putting the hurt on some nice bonies?

We haven't had bonito around SD for several years now. I saw exactly 1 caught last year and that was off Isla Todos Santos. They are usually common and around most of the year. The bigger models often stay off shore but they can invade every bay along our coast. I've caught 5lb-ers out of the Jst boat basin. They'll be back. Mike

I caught a couple small ones (12-14 inches) off La Jolla on the sabiki last Sunday (7/31).
