Who Is BWE?

Let's hear it!
How did it get started?
When did it get started?
Who are the major players?
What's in the future for BWE?
Inquiring minds want to know.

First rule of BWE, dont talk about BWE. :biggrinjester:
but from what I hear on the streets, Iceman is the Godfather.

YakMedic 07-21-2011 08:47 AM

George, at 437 am these are your ponderings on the world. Shouldn't you be cleaning sand out of a reel or something.

Handymansd 07-21-2011 08:52 AM

Wow... My god I am getting old!

Talk to Adi and Brent, the might have a idea how this thing got rolling.

Iceman 07-21-2011 09:17 AM

Unfortunately hackers have destroyed BWE's history. Greg Knab was the one who came up with the original "BWE man" he started this site with Corey, Al and I helping out back about 10 years ago. Look at some of the old videos on the home page to see some old faces. Greg now lives in WA and guides flyfishing. He comes down occasionally and fishes here. Adi stepped in for IT expert services. Brent bought the site a few years back to keep it alive, implemented the camera and keeping up with all the upgrades needed to ward off the SPAM BOTS. It has changed from a simple scrolling fish report to what it is today. I help moderate..........in moderation. :D

We used to call in from the water "fresh off the horn" reports to make everyone working suffer through their day. :sifone:

This site has become my daily "fix" for over a year now....when I can't get on the water.

My wife calls this site "Fishbook" as in Facebook.....:D

Daily fix? I think it's my all-day fix. Besides NFL network. God I'm a loser.

ok this is too damn funny, great question and even better answer, my wife too calls it fishbook, but it is a daily, and sometimes nightly visit, and she is right there with me as I read some of the great posts all of you write, show her the pics, and it keeps her up on our lingo, she knows most of the slang when I talk to her about whats going on, very cool...thanks to all involved in keeping this site BWE as we know it today:you_rock:

Many of us wish that we could return to that kind of openness.

BWE = BLOCKING WORK EVERYDAY

Thanks BWE for not allowing me to focus on work on a constant, day in and day out basis. I would rather be fishing however I cannot but :cheers1: to those that have that luxury. I however will sit here all day long and dream what if I was out there right now :reel: like all of you.

I remember those days! Greg is a great guy. He got my dad a massage treatment when he was sick in hospice care.

Corey "Corndawg" is OG. He won the SMM Tourny one year right after he got his kayak ripped off...grand prize, free kayak.

Times were different then. No ego and everyone got along with each other from what I remember. None of this, don't tell anyone. It was an elite group. Many of those kayakers are boat owners now.

Use to love the "Fresh off the Horn" reports especially when it was going off.

"Iceman" is and will always be the Godfather of LJ...after he moved away it was FnArne and after Arne, it was "Mad Scientist", and now its "Darkhorse". All those guys have something in common...They are Pioneers!

They don't wait for reports, they go make reports!

That was BWE!

MY STYLE!!!!!!! It's hard for me to fish based on current reports when you're 100miles away and have a wife at home.
