Fishing Boat Sinks
|
saw that on the news, prayers out to all the families. only good thing is it happened in the sea of cortez and not the pacific.

Please explain this logic. Many people die in tragic boating related accidents in the Sea of Cortez. |

From experience it is a lot easier to tell a victims family that we have found your loved one, they did not survive, but we were able to recover their remains, then to tell them we spent 9 hours searching and provide them with no news. the sea of cortez is a lot easier to search for survivors, and bodies then than pacific ocean. While this is a tragic accident, had it happened in the pacific there would be even fewer survivors. |
well that just plain ol' sucks!
and the warmer water in sea of cortez had to be in the survivors favor! |
The winds were terrible from what my In-Laws were telling us. They were down in San Felipe this weekend and witnessed the terrible winds that were blowing through. I know that when the wind kicks up so does the chop on the Cortez, it can be pretty rough.

Yikes! I was on the list for the Oct. trip. Are prayers to the families of the missing.

this is tragic, very sad, I have a friend that just got off that boat two days prior, whew!! it doesn't get much closer than that...I will keep all in my prayers
|
I second that with the prayers. Think of it this way the Sea of Cortez with its amazing tidal flows with the high winds was probably like water splashing back and forth in a bath tub. Nothing wrong with the boat, just a terrible accident.
