Got it...thanks wiseguy |
just follow what iceman posted up in this thread. hes gonna know the most accurate info. As has already been stated the craigslist ad mentions extremes which iceman has confirmed there are none. He has also confirmed numbers of each available and more. Dont waste your time with the craigslist ad at this point.

Thanks..
Does anyone know what type of a crowd can be expected at one of these? I'm missing a very important softball clinic for my daughter on the 12th to be there. I'm hoping to pick up 2 X-Factors, says there is 20 available. What are my odds? |
If you are in line before 9am I would think you would have no problem getting your X Factors. I will try to find out how many of these will be F&D with the hatches and rod holders. If the 2 kayaks you want are not right next to each other you may not get both as you need to stand guard over your selection until we write you up. Bring and extra person to make sure. In the past we have had around 100 people filing in at 9am.
|
factory seconds are not first quality as in there are minor cosmetic defects. Nothing structural and nothing that has had major repair, graphics missing, slight warping, pin hole welded. All kayaks will have a tag stating why they are not 1st quality.

Andy, Will this be first come first serve or every man/women for himself/herself. Like since there are only 5 stealths, will the first few people get to choose before they get run over? Because if thats not the case i am bringing my whole family and you all know mexican families they go on and on, uncles, newphews, nieces, great grandmother(well maybe not her) and don't forget the family dogs., cats., birds. |
i think we will try to control the flow this time keeping entry single file. Pick your kayak from outside and pick a plan B just in case.
|
Andy:
This is just a suggestion: How about you make 10 vouchers for the first few people in line, 5 for the stealths 14s and 5 for the stealths 12s? On each one your right the color of the yak and whats imperfect about it. I would imagine that people are going to rush to the stealths. Thats how Best Buy does it when they open the doors on black friday. Before they open the doors the laptops are accounted for, and the vouchers are passed out 10-15mins before they open the door, so there are no disputes over who has first rights. That being said I am looking for a blue or white x-factor f&d model. I really wanted an eXtreme, but someone mentioned i would be to big for it. So i will go with another x-factor that way i won't be tempted to spend money to make a stealth 14 my primary yak. Unless you have a blue stealth 14. :drool5: |

I don't want to miss out on the X-factors |

i already have my blue lawn chair in line. |

are those xfactors or stealths fully loaded with seats and paddles? Just trying to figure what i need out. It is the sale ive been looking for. I am driving down from san luis obispo.....i just hope i dont go 4 hours and miss out.
|
sounds like according to iceman the stealths have hatches and flush mounts installed....i dont think any boats will be coming with seats(all sold seperately) and the xfactors will be stripped to rigged just gotta run to one with what you want.
|
Can I order one? and have it shipped

Oh thanks...but I don't see anywhere on their site where "packages" are discussed? Sorry, I'm stupid. |
Quote:
REC or Recreation refers to kayak hull, most likely center hatch and maybe 2 rod holders in back. F/D or Fish & Dive refers to kayak hull, center & front hatch, 2-4 rod holders in back and 2 in front. Some of the F/D "may" have a rudder installed, but don't hold your breath on that as this is an add-on that the factory normally does not do. There are places that you can get a rudder from online or even from OEX, so don't sweat not having one. Just remember that if you want to set up your yak, go for the STD and purchase the add-ons as you go. |
Any chance you'll be selling X-Wings?
|
Quote:
I'll probably want to set things up my way and locate things for me so I'm okay with doing the add-ons later |
some clarification on the difference between standard, rec, and F&D

You didn't have to do that for me...I'm the only moron around here...haha |
Hey iceman...
What time do people usually start getting there? I'm putting off something very important to be there and will be real disappointed if I come away empty handed. Sorry for all the questions. Can I just back-door you some cash and have you set a couple aside for me? just kidding...haha..okay, I'm serious! |

I went to the last sale and got a Mini-X. Some advice...
1) Get there early if you want a yak that has limited numbers. Before 7am for sure... 2) If you plan to get more than one yak it is highly advisable to bring an extra person. You have to stand next to your yak to claim it. You can't say, "Hey, Iceman, I want this Tandem and the Mini-X all the way over there." 3) Have a plan b & c. The last time I went, there was a family that brought 6-8 siblings and claimed that many kayaks. There was also a rental company I believe that rolled in with a U-Haul truck and then loaded several, upon several kayaks. I also witnessed an attractive brunette that "cut" in line and proceeded to do a tug of war with a 14 foot kayak with another lady. 4) Bring some kayak wheels in your car and know how to tie your yak properly to your vehicle. I had to help a dad strap down two Mini-Xs onto his CRV. You can load your yak in the driveway, but it can get crowded. 5) Check the yak over carefully. I know all the yaks are seaworthy, but there were some differences with each set of yaks. 6) Wear your BWE shirt if you have one... 7) Buy your accessories and even your hatches there. The prices are good. 8) Bring a camera to capture any cat fights between attractive females. 9) Be nice...it's not like you are buying Hobies :) |

Hmm... ill be there early check! Man, no one better cut in front of me, I am going to bring some rope and rope off the area to make a line... I hope Andy crew can handle a single file line. So he doesn't let those cutters in first. 4) Bring some kayak wheels in your car and know how to tie your yak properly to your vehicle. I had to help a dad strap down two Mini-Xs onto his CRV. You can load your yak in the driveway, but it can get crowded. Kayak wheels Check! 5) Check the yak over carefully. I know all the yaks are seaworthy, but there were some differences with each set of yaks. No warping yaks and no pin hole leaks Check! Only Graphic bad placement Check! 6) Wear your BWE shirt if you have one... I don't have a BWE shirt Andy told me I couldn't get one until I bought two yaks from him.*cough* cough* 7) Buy your accessories and even your hatches there. The prices are good. Check! 8) Bring a camera to capture any cat fights between attractive females. Will be too busy running for my future yak! Check! Maybe ill take a picture of who is in the line to make sure they don't cut. 9) Be nice...it's not like you are buying Hobies :) If i could afford a Hobie, i would be nice, but since this is what i can afford, its all the poor people rushing into walmart for kayaks. so i am going to have to be aggressive and take my yak from that brunette who cut the line.Check! A rental company...man i hope there not in front of me. I would cry. Iceman... If you remember out of the top of your head, did you see any blue or white x-factor fish and dive models? My worst fear is me running in and getting to the one i want and it says warping or leak and i have to run to the next one and there all claimed. I will be sad... Andy, will you have life vest at the sale? |
no life jackets, but you will get a 15% off voucher to use at OEX Sunset Beach, good for 14 days following your purchase.
|
You mentioned hatches, does that include gatorhatches as well and if so do you know the price or discount? Time for my daughter to start coming out with me. Thanks.
|
Only hatches there will be small rectangular and round. Gator hatches sell for $125. the sale is limited to volume item sales for simplicity sake
