Money Fish
WTG, Deepdiver, aka Easy Money! All the right moves... and congrats to the other big winners:luxhello:
|
Yes- had a great time and Congrats to all that won, and participated.
I do feel that it is time to add a pic to my avatar, and yes - for the time being, that IS a skunk in my pic. |
Who would have thought that Billy V would almost make it in the money with a 2 pound greenie. 150 boats and only five fish, (not counting Billy's) at the weigh-in. Wow!
I am not claiming a skunk today. I caught bait and two sea lions. Hooked them good too. I bet their mouths are a little sore tonight. Serves them right for stealing my best bait. Despite the poor fishing, this event was very enjoyable. Thanks to Jim, Matt and all the others who helped put this together. This was my first Moyer. I will certainly be back again next year. Bob |

26 pound halibut, saw it gaffed right after I released this snaggle-toothed halibut wannabe.......I should have read the rules a little better:D

those dolphins were awesome. they were playing in my bow wake. (i was in aluminum boat, not a kayak. you could pretty much touch them they were so close.
|
not creature was sturring...
ok...some bait... but that was it... it was definitely alot of fun! good to see a bunch of folks I only get to see once in a while... good times indeed! |
Great tourney with or without fish. There were several large fish caught that did not count. Lots of folks fished Halibut all day all over for nada. I spent half the day not catching YT and the other half not catching Halibut.
|
Big Thanks to Matt , Jim and Family for making this tournament possible.
You guys are some of the most righteous people I know. I hope this tradition continues forever. -------------------- My total on the day was 2 Bonito and 3 Mega Macks , all on irons. They were so big I didn't dare pin one on as bait. That big thresher seemed to follow us all day and I didn't want any part of him. That Mack wound up being a $50 fish :) |
Saw some guys with cameras.

Thanks for the props Dave!!! Lucky was the word of the day for me.
I knew that sucker was on the small side when I hooked him but he looked north of 10lbs. For awhile, I was really regretting bleeding him out as I was nervously imagining him weighing only 9 lb. 11 oz on the scale. I pre-fished Friday and sighted alot of YT so I knew they were out there and I even spooked a couple puddlers before I hooked up. I was one of the first ones out fishing past the condo but the large mob was migrating south and I knew that wouldn't help me catch fish. What really screwed it up in my mind was the New Seaforth cruising right into the area before heading into deeper water. I guarantee most of those dogs that were harassing everyone came off the New Seaforth's stern. That was the hardest 45 minute kick back but when Paul Lebowitz told me I had the first fish on the beach.....:D:D:D:D:sifone::sifone::sifone::D:D:D:D Thanks again to everyone who made this event possible! :you_rock: |
concrats Eric :cheers1:

A big thanks to everyone at the tourny
The tournament yesterday was a huge success even with some tough fishing. Thanks sponsors, everyone that entered and all our volunteers for your help. I will have to count things up but I am sure we will be makeing a nice contribution to our friend Joel and to the American Cancer Society. Mark your calanders for the same weekend next year.
I will get a full report and photos up soon but today I think I will just sit and watch football with a smattering of baseball. It was a looooong day yesterday for everyone and again thank you all for supporting our event. :you_rock::cheers1::luxhello::notworthy: |
Preliminary numbers look like we will be making an 11K dontaion to our charitity. Thanks again everyone.
|
Really awesome day. All I caught was a huge mac. I can't belive I won a paddle and a fishfinder. IM SUPER STOKED!!! Great food and company. I'm looking forward to next years.
|
Jim, that's awesome!
Thanks to you and Matt and your families. We all appreciate your hard work. Thanks to sponsors and thanks to everyone who supported the event this year. Big congrats to the winners! Slow fishing for me but great times, as always! Got to catch up with the old gang, got to meet some new folks. Good times :cheers1: |
Great tourney again :cheers1:
Congrats to the 5 that caught a fish worth weighing :you_rock:, and to Billy V for having the balls to actually weigh a bait fish at a Big Fish tourney  As usual, I struck out, but I did let let the ADD get the best of me mid day and I played with itsy bitsies on the sabiki for a while. My only 3 pics for the day Nothing a little band-aid wont fix http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...r/P9110003.jpg Tiny Twins http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...r/P9110009.jpg New Species for me I think- Blue Rockfish? http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...r/P9110007.jpg Good to see everyone again :luxhello: |
WTG to all the winners, all the participants and all the staff of this event. There was a small mountain of prizes for the raffle and they sold out the tickets. Thanks for the great deal on my new ride too :luxhello:. The whole shindig went off without a hitch except for the lackluster effort by the fish.
|
Nice job on the tourney to the entire Moyer and Sammons families and all of the other volunteers! This was my first tourney due to the fact that I never could imagine trying to launch with 135+ yaks on the beach but believe it or not it was not bad. Pretty cool to see everyone launching at the same time in semi-light conditions. Like most, went home smelly from the skunk but the good food, raffle items and good company at the park made up for it.
:cheers1: Cheers to all who attended...it is on my calendar for next year. -Steve |
I was a little bummed not catching anything but bait all day, but after getting to the park and seeing Dylan and listening to his father tell his son's story, none of it seemed to really matter anymore. It really put it all into perspective as to why all of us were really there. God bless to him and his family, and thanks to Jim, Matt, and the Moyer family and friends for another great tournament!

Here comes miss america
Probably the happiest I've ever been to see an over-grown firecracker at color.

I dont see the gaff marks, did you use a bait net? :D
congrats man |
Actually, I lifted him out of the water with my rod and then dropped him in the Hobie livewell. That way I could cruise back in all stealth like I was calling it in early for the day.

Way to win the lotto fish. Going the distance paid off. :luxhello::luxhello::luxhello::luxhello::luxhello:

good time, good people. good cause
thanks to all who put in the hardwork to organize this event and thanks to all the people who participated in it |
Wade, you crack me up. Kimchi is the secret to fishing success. I really don't know any Korean's that can't fish and they all eat the stuff. I'm only half-Korean and it shows in my sub-par fishing prowess. It must have something to do with the pungent odor and its ability to mask human scents. ;)
