Dennis, I am gonna add a wild card, one per person for those oddities. That is pretty cool. I pulled up a starfish once :D
Now if the judges will confirm that it is hooked in the area of the mouth :D |
It isn't a yt but I gotta start somewhere.

Damn, I forgot to take the pic of the sea cucumber I snagged last Tuesday with the jig. That was a first for me. Some funny stuff is coming up on those heavy irons.
|
Some people say it is the action or the color of the jig. I say it is the low price on the sticker.
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...r/P4210006.jpg Sent this one down as Ling bait. No Love http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...r/P4210023.jpg |

yo-yo ing in the bay is the only effective was to catch the elusive giant man-eating rocket powered bay snail. I know it is technical, but when targeting this species, it is the only way to go.
-well actually, I had every intention of launching for La Jolla that morning, but after a 1/2 hour of watching some pretty wicked waves crash down on the beach, I chickened out! I then headed to the bay rather than come home and mow the lawn. I was i'll equiped for the bay, and dying to get my new jig wet that I bought from the Fred Hall show the weekend before. Ya do what ya gotta do! -Peter[/img] |
I think this is a Johnny bass (olive rockfish). Does that count as rockfish or is it separate. First on I've caught on a hook, snagged plenty in the hoops.

brad, cant tell with the lighting but i think its a copper rockfish.

I some how made it through tonights shift without gloves. Nice to keep the hands toasty.
It is tough to get a pic of a mac on the iron. When you pull them out of the water they wiggle right off the hook too quick. Took me 3 macs to get that pic. I got a spanish mac on the iron tonight but couldn't get the pic in time. |
These are from last wednesday. Didn't catch the right kind but the iron was hot for trash fish.
The only greenie that stayed on long enough for a pic... http://www.bloodydecks.com/gallery/f...982_639434.JPG a turdroller... http://www.bloodydecks.com/gallery/f...984_309509.JPG and a cuda... http://www.bloodydecks.com/gallery/f...989_394500.JPG Tady 9 is becoming my new favorite. |

That would be the bane of the island fisherman, I think Cat more than SCI, I have caught them around the Coronados and smaller ones around LJ (not to be confused with blacksmith that look similar). The blue perch, or halfmoon. If you had anything picking off your squid over there it was probably one of these. Supposedly they will attract the WSB, as a pack picks away at your squid, as long as the WSB gets there before the squid is picked away to nothing. That is a pretty big one and I guess they are good eating. IRONMAN.........DENIED! :D
