I will be there for sure, but my son can't make it this time. Thanks to everyone who put blood, sweat and tears into this endevor.

Time to step up. Everyone I have seen fishing LJ needs to be there. No matter where you fish, or how, you need to be there. This is it. No more second chances. No more waiting until the next meeting. Now is the time to speak for your fishing future.

When: Public comment will be taken on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at approximately 1:30 p.m.
and again at approximately 7:00 p.m.

The 1:30 PM Public Comment Session is Very Significant.

Please make a day of it, and attend the entire meeting.
-Don't worry, you won't be alone, there will be most of BWE there.

I should also be bringing my wife and 2 daughters (6 & 8). We are making a family event out of it.

I can close up and get there in plenty of time, so count me in for the 2nd 7pm session.

If anyone wants to park here at the store and carpool over, it's about 20 minutes away. Parking around there will likely suck.

I won't be able to make this mtg. as my mom is scheduled for surgery - cancer, and I need to go home to take care of her during her recovery. I need to be there for her right now but wanted to let you guys know about an easy way to get to the mtgs for those who can attend. One of the members at bloodydecks has arranged for buses to get people there. It should be a fun ride with various bus stops and an incentive of a 1/2 day pass for those who go on the bus! check out this thread on BD for more info and get your RSVP into Chuck right away! Cheap and Easy Transportation to the Long Beach Meeting
<HR style="COLOR: #000000; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000" SIZE=1>Hello folks. We have partnered with many of the local landings to offer a smokin' deal to help get people to and from the Long Beach Meeting on October 21. Why drive then pay for parking when someone else can drive for you? Luxury buses are being reserved and will run along several major freeway routes, picking up riders at pre-arranged pickup stops in park-n-ride locations at reasonably spaced intervals along each route. Riders will pay a small, $20, fare for the ride and in return get a free 1/2-day pass from one of the many participating landings. Reservations will be required. Please use PM's to RSVP and receive confirmation. Limited space is available. One bus will run from SD northward along the 5. Another will run the 15 to the 10, then south on the 405. The last will run west on the 10 from Riverside, then south to LB.

Note that there is a day session and an evening session. The daytime session starts at 1:30pm and the evening session starts at 7pm. Of course we need to be there a bit early to get speaker cards for those with an opinion (hopefully everyone).

At this point it looks like we will be targeting a 1pm arrival time at Long Beach. The Waterman's Alliance has offered pizza to all of us supporters during the break between the day and evening comments. Once the evening comments wrap up around 9 or 9:30 pm??? the buses will head for the barn.

WE ALL NEED TO HELP SAVE THIS "CROWN JEWEL"

The way I see it we have 3 kayak fishing sites doing a roll call
for the October 21st meeting

I maybe wrong there maybe others

But so far we have a total of ONLY about

53 names?

It is still early, but it is never to early to commit to attendance...
(many names are also on more than one list)...(and a few are our spearo brothers)

My wife Shiloh and I will be going to the evening comment session. She has school in the day and I can't miss a full day of work this time of the year.

Not to get off the subject but there is also a Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles in Long Beach. Just more incentive, open late:sifone:.

If anyone needs a cheap and easy way to get to the meeting, bloodydecks has organized buses to get people there. It should be a fun trip! For the price of $20 roundtrip, you can't go wrong! PLUS, you will receive a 1/2 day pass from one of the local landings in exchange. We are trying to get mass numbers in attendance at this meeting. There are 3 buses and they have various stops at park n rides along the way... please go visit these links and RSVP right away! This is a great way to get the momentum up for the mtg!

Bump! I need a couple volunteers today. If you are sitting on the fence, today is the day for you to commit to attending this meeting!

LAST CHANCE TO VOICE YOUR OPINION!! If you don't like to talk, we need your time for various presentations.

If we only get 30 seconds I wouldn't mind having a minute to a minute and a 1/2. My wife and I are going to speak on kayakers safety and how map 2 is the best compromise to keep us all safe on the water. She will be joining me. I have already wrote it and working to cut it down time wise. This will ensure I'm more prepared this time to present the facts clearly. 30 second really does not give much time.

Joe, I will help organize time ceding, I am sure there will be some volunteers to give time to you two. Thank you both for attending and taking the time to save kayak fishing on our coast.
