Yet another infomercial.....
2 Attachment(s)
It’s been one loooong humbling year since I started fishing LJ in search of my trophy.<O:p</O:p <O:p My time on the water went something like this: I spent time dragging around bait “off the point”, "off the condos” and or “around the point”, targeting certain lobster buoys in winter known to produce, yo-yoing when it seemed the thing to do, running around looking for that certain colored iron that that guy was using when he caught that big yellow…. <O:p</O:p <O:p</O:p Then there was the time that I talked my buddy into to fishing up north (sorry Gregg) the day before the squid bite broke loose, only to land empty handed but just in time to see the other four Kayakers that we launched with loaded up w 30# class yellows. And the missed opportunities, too many too count, some funny some sad, they ranged from the spasmodic hook set to spooking the frothing yts 4 feet away from me, and looking back, It seemed I had a keen ability to choose the wrong bait at the right time. <O:p</O:p <O:p I’m all for paying your dues, but seriously no catchum was getting old. It’s not as if I started my odyssey with no experience either; I’ve spent 2/3rds of my life in, around and or under the water which for me made my lack of fish a source of personal humiliation! <O:p</O:p <O:p</O:p My wife (who has the brains in this equation) called Josh Pruitt and set up a suprise father’s day gift. If not for her and my buddy Gregg who gave her Josh’s info, I’d probably still be making some of those same mistakes years from now.<O:p</O:p <O:p</O:p As you can see the few hours I spent with Josh were “game changing” for me. I learned more from him in a few hours than I did fishing the entire year, trolling this site and bloody decks for “info” combined. So my advice to you is if you have the means and you want to improve the return of your investment on your kayak and gear and bring your game to the next level give him a buzz and he'll set you straight. <O:p</O:p <O:p</O:p Caught off the point on a flyline w a flouro leader and spectra backing, dont know the depth as my FF was shut off to conserve the battery. Havent taped her yet as she went straight into an ice bath:) Best, Josh PS if you’re wondering why I’m not smiling from ear to ear its because my camera man was an UBER perfectionist and 33 lbs gets tiring quick! |
Nicely done sir!

nice fish- :cheers1:
but in all honesty- i've fished from my yak for three years now- sometimes more often than others- and only have one decent fish to show from it. it's not about the fish- it's about the fishing. |
congrats again on the fish:) I talked with you on the beach as I was unloading my gear to paddle out (red XFActor, White Tundra)...That was an impressive fish!:sifone:

Hi Josh,
No luck for me that day, or two days later...but great time trying! I think I will be giving Josh a call in the near future:) Nice to meet you as well and good luck out there.... Tom |
Just got done reading the Sept. issue of Pacific Coast Sportfishing magazine and inside is a nice article concerning Josh and his ability to catch big fish. The magazine has been sitting on my table for over a week now( I have been behind in my readings lately due to the great fishing in LJ as of late), but this article is the bomb if you like catching larger fish!! A must read if your into this type of fishing....:reel:
