Slow morning with nothing but short bites until I hooked up in the deep hole by the bridge. First thoughts were batray, but it seemed to be tiring too quickly, making shorter and shorter runs down. 12# line on the Abu. Zoom fluke and sled head (present from Landwhale :D )

32inches laid flat, 31 in pic and 13 pounds + 1 pt for the artificial, my best from the harbor yet. My kind of "one fish morning"

We kick him out of La Jolla for showing us all up all the time, and it hasn't helped us a bit... or slowed him down much. ;)

Thankfully I did have the gaff, but nothing to secure the fish. Pulled a gill and slid it in the front hatch. Scared the crap out of me the few times it went off inside the hull. Pulled the fish out on the way in for the photo.:D Find that ones big sister and then I'll be running south for my squid eatin' YT subs.

poop........lagged and missed the deadline for this 11 pounder from the trip...........hope to catch some bigger ones any way.
