It's been pretty windy on the lakes... and the streams have had some new restrictions...so I spent the day hiking and scouting Rush Creek today...possible snow tonight and tomorrow but next week looks beautiful...:cheers1:

Looks beautiful up there. I'm looking forward to my trip there mid June.

It's a little chilly today and last night was down right Frigid...
I don't think I'll be kayaking today...LOL |
Guess they don't want people harassing the browns in there.
|
Not yet anyway.😎
|
Spawn
Rumor is that it was a late spawn so DFW closed Rush Creek...
|
Going to toss in the crayfish traps this trip?
|
locked and loaded...

Baja Traveler...The traps are ready to go...probably get em in the water today if it doesn't shower...:cheers1:
|
 The only time I've seen one that big was one my Aunt had in a fish tank. Awesome!
|
Wish I was there, but it is looking like it will be September before I can get away this year. Enjoy your trip. Looking forward to seeing more beautiful photos!

To paraphrase Mark Twain...if you don't like the weather in California...just wait a few minutes...:notworthy:
It was a Beautiful day...and the wind let up early so I finally took the advantage to do a lap of Silver Lake in the Hobie PA 360...first two fish were about 2 and 3 pounds...both fish were caught on the 1/32 Hookup Baits with some of their crawfish sauce in the tubes...:you_rock: Can't wait to hit it tomorrow morning...:cheers1: |
Great picture with some great fish.
|
Awesome picture! Keep my spot warm be there next Wednesday!
|
22nd
Cant wait, leaving in a few weeks and got my crawfish cages ready! Bringing the Turkey Fryer for a big boil hopefully!
Thanks for the Tips Jim! :lobster::lobster::lobster: |
I'll be up the week before you.
Don't worry. I'll leave you some.;) -Keith |

So Sad...only one day left...I'll be driving down 395 on Monday...:(
Fishing has been slow for a lot of folks since DFW isn't stocking as usual... I've been pretty lucky to connect on 1 or 2 quality fish each day... The 1/32 Black Gold and Yellow White Hook Up Baits have been killing it...my fly fishing buddy has been doing well on the brown Wooley Bugger and weighted line... Rush Creek opened today and I only got slow fishing reports... |
Crawdads...

The Crawdad crawl was good...not great but Good...we had plenty for a big boil with 6 traps on a two night soak with bacon, chicken, and cat food...
|
I'll be at Silver Lake the two nights before I go home . Hope to have a good haul for a boil when I get home.
That one crayfish looked like it was 9 inches long, just scaling it from the 12 inch diameter trap. |
Those are some great looking fish! I can't wait for my turn. I usually go up in mid summer when the fishing is slower. Guess I should schedule an early run next year. I hate the drive home

Note to self...Never , Ever, travel on a Holiday again  ...LOL Worst traffic I've ever encountered on 395...:doh: The last fish for the trip was on the yellow/white 1/32 HUB...released for the next trip at the end of the month...:cheers1: Lots of weather and some cold nights...but overall it was another incredible trip with some beautiful sights and adventures...like the nighttime kayak trip on Silver Lake to watch the full moon rise on a flat calm night...and being one of the first folks into Yosemite when it opened last Thursday...hiking around Rush Creek before it opened to fishing and have the whole place to myself...watching those big giant snowflakes fall and instantly melt on the ground...beautiful quality fish for such slow fishing overall...and another delicious crawdad boil with friends.... |

HUBs...?
2 Attachment(s)
...Monkey...Still got a problem with the HUBs..?......he paid his fines and did his time...and is running a successful operation, is winning lots of tourneys without cheating, and helps the youth in fishing...
Be a good Christian/human and give a guy a second chance...:notworthy: I tried other spoons and lures on this trip and used the HUBs with no scent and IMHO the HUBs still outproduce the others by far...:cheers1: Yes the new Crawfish scent works outrageous...but the action of the tube baits gets them to bite...and the scent keeps em holding on... :luxhello: :doh:LOL...Years of collecting all this stuff...and now I use just a few HUBs...LOL |

Michael...
Jorge...Are you and Michael hanging out together again...:toetap05:

I was up there and saw your kayaks and traps in the water. Fishing was really good for me, too. Kayaking after 1pm was tough every day at silver so we went to Gull a few times. Good bites and catches all around. Brought some HUB's in pink and chartreuse that did the job pretty well but my GF was using a pink rooster tail and totally out-fished me  Always a good time up there.
