Swimmer Attacked in Solana Beach

Breaking story on the news this morning. Someone is seriously wounded by at animal bite in Solana Beach. My bets are a Sea Lion. If so can we do something about the over population now! :x

The ut website says shark attack, and the victim died off Fletcher Cove in Solana Beach. Sad Story.

Get ready for the media sensationalism.

Very sad.

My biggest client is right by the Fletcher Cove in Solana...

This year, there's a beautiful healthy kelp right off the cove... I kept eying it...

The other day I saw a sportie anchored by the kelp.

They are saying Shark attack on a swimmer. He was a triathlete training with a group of other swimmers.
Very sad, our thoughts go out to his family.

RIP to the gent that died at sea.

Very sad, my bet is gws, I was there, very sad. I guess this group swims there every fri at 6:30... I was about to surf when I saw the guards rushing the beach... beach breaks looked fun, so I paddled anyways, felt pretty sharky.

“I can't remember a shark ever being in this area before,” Miller said.

Sad story. Prayers to the victim and his family.

The shark risk is always there, Its very sad it happend to such a nice person. I still feel safer in the water than on the freeway, and if you would like to try one of my homemade omelets I will serve it up ranchero style if you like.

Thank you to the lifeguards who helped, it was a day they will remember.

i heard an 8 mile stretrch is closed fpr 72 hrs is that going 2 effect the lj launch

madscientist 04-25-2008 06:04 PM

Very sad and a good reminder to everyone that on or in the water, you're just bait to the right fish. But I gotta say, I've always thought those people that swim at dusk or dawn are really increasing their chances of the worst happening.

NS, I see them swimming the bouy line wearing like a black full body suit with skin tight black hoodies. I always thought they look like seals and were alittle nuts to be in there like that. Kinda reminded me of those fake seals they troll for GW research. Poor dude, prayers were said at the dinner table tonight for him.

dgax65 04-26-2008 12:13 AM

I also heard that they were closing 17 miles of beach for 3 days. I went to La Jolla this afternoon and there were plenty of surfers and rental yaks in the water.

Shawn 04-26-2008 12:33 AM

I would like to send our very sincere thoughts and Prayers to his family and friends on behalf of all Kayak Fishing Persons here in Australia.

RIP...
