Some fish here: 3 for 3
We left the livewells home and the quivers of rods and did the yoyo thing. Seems to be what is working for everyone lately. Always been a fan of the simplicity of it. :jig:

Andy kept at it and found his own a while later. Never say never! Since we all had the fish we came looking for, we headed for the barn. Good times with some good guys doing what we love to do. thanks to Yani for snapping this one. http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...0/IMG_4434.JPG |
Nice going fellas !! Prefer less gear as well.. Heck one rod and a game clip would be n ideal trip...

Mephitidae?
What did Yani catch?
|
Felt weird launching with no bait tank. Glad I stuck with the plan!
|
Very nice boys. What kind of depth did you find em in
|
Oops. I read it as all 3 went 3for3.
Nice coordinated dunes. Do you have matching handbags too? |
DOESN'T ANYBODY WORK AROUND HERE?

Good to meet you all finally. I was just south of you all and got one about the same time. Sweet group shot.

quality mossbacks, I like that action shot!

Fun day. So fun when the jig stops on the grind! :jig:
Last week I picked up a new Hobie Revolution 16 from Andy @ OEX, and today was my first day on the water with it. After I download some pics I'll do a proper review on it, but for now I'll just say that I really like it when the new kayaks come with good mojo :D https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7294/...c90d7e46_b.jpg |

Very nicely done guys! I'm hoping to get on another jig bite in the AM. Nothing beats ripping a jig up through the column and getting slammed!
|
Great job guys, that action shot is golden Andy!

Very nice :luxhello:

It was a day to remember! I got lots of fun footage.
Two memorable moments: 1) I got hooked up on my live bait line, while yoyoing. Only to get broke off... 2) After seeing only Steveoo and Andy Aceovado (Sp?? sorry Andy) hook up, Andy OEX asks me to take a pic of the three of them, together. I reply: Always a bridesmaid, and never a bride, uhh Andy?? He replys, "What to do mean, I got one too!!" |
Nice fish guys. Very cool to see you all hook up. :D
Well Yani, apparently everyone caught fish except us. Again. Still a fantastic day on the water as always. |

Nice fish x3 |
Dammmmmm. Between work and the wheather I missed my chance. Now I really regret not having gone out on Tuesday. I was surprised not seeing anyone at the launch on the web cam this last Tuesday. Looks like the next window is Monday or Tuesday next week. I hope the bite is still on.
|
Launching with minimal gear is the way to do it. I've caught most of my yellows using the yoyo.
|
Steve... What fishfinder are you using now?
|
I'm off Tuesday.... Who wants to fish????

I haven't had time to change any settings on the HDS 7, or even figure out how to work it yet. I even had it duct taped to my kayak for the maiden voyage. So far so good though. Wish I would have though about taking a pic of the one school Andy and I were able to hook up on. That was a crazy amount of fish down there. Here are a few screen grabs. Pair of free swimming jacks that I was too slow to get the jig down to. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...psjmjk4gsi.jpg A decent school that I came across in shallower water. They were moving quick too. By the time I turned around to grab my rod for a drop they were gone. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...psaovsbfdu.jpg |
Great screenshots!! Helps to figure out what we are seeing on the water.
Probably the question that stumps me the most and may seem dumb but here goes... How the heck do you tell which direction fish are swimming when you meter them? I have seen marks in the past as I'm trolling but never figured it out. |
Digging the action shots :cheers1:

The cool dudes strike again!!

Horizontal swimmers are harder to detect than vertical. If the marks are headed up (reading left to right on screen) the fish are swimming up. If they are headed down (reading left to right) they are swimming down. The far right of your screen is what's happening now. Amp scope can help. |
3 for 3; time to play lotto!

Little, short and sweet video :D I don't think I have ever had a YT pop off the gaff before. It knew right where to go.

Wow Steveoo, great Fish Finder shots. The schools were
big and on the move. Here's my least favorite shot of the day. The moment I got broke off... Revenge will be mine. My fisherman's belly is still hungry. http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...9_21_06_34.png |
