Two other guys from the SoCal Heroes of The Water team (Phatford & Tacmik) will be fishing also. I'm hoping Cj can make it and we can have the whole group on the water blindly chasing rockfish.

I signed myself up along with two coworkers. They've never fished Rockfish before but I said not to worry about it. I might have overpromised when I said the organizer would have two bikini clad models for each participant. Can any of your sponsors help out with that? Jim Day?

If I owned a boat I would feel more optioned to enter. Seems pretty unfair to kayakers. I know the spots but can't get there in time. That's my excuse. Just my stupid opinion but I think tournements posted here should be kayak only related.

The Kayaks and the Boats are competing for two separate prize pools. Kayaks will only be competing against other kayakers.

Unless you're panning to kayak to the nados. There is PLENTY of time! :D

Wetsand and others are predicting double over head west swell this weekend. Might be better to wait for calmer days. It's a great cause for those that protect our freedom. Hope all turns out o.k.

We are watching the forecast carefully, most likely it will be moved to Sunday but no changes have been made yet. If it has to wait for another weekend, It will be toward the end of March. A lot of our competitors are also vendors and retailers who have committed to Fred Hall and we can't compete with the show those weekends. I will post the official change no later than Thursday by noon.

If it does have to change, any sunday would be awesome!!!! Hint Hint

With the predicted wave height it would be a SWIMMING B. Certainly some good crashes. Wonder if we could get some bleachers erected in time.

You could sit on the piles of sand around the construction. But those might be washed away by then.

Please let it go Sunday as I am the set timing master and don't mind swimming. In fact I'll just change into my wetsuit before landing

Dear Anglers,

Due to the unfortunate weather conditions, Saturday seems to be offering up less than optimal conditions for a tournament. Although there hasn't been a small craft advisory, I want to make sure this event is as enjoyable as possible. It's still unofficial, but I want to put it out there that there is a very high possibility that the event will be moved to Sunday March 2nd. The captains meeting on Friday will go on as planned, and everything on Saturday schedule will be moved to Sunday.



If Sunday proves to also show terrible weather, the tournament will be postponed for Saturday March 29th. This is to avoid any conflict with Fred Hall and other tournaments which many of our members are already committed to. As some of you already know a number of the competitors are also local vendors who have booths set up at Fred Hall. Look on the bright side, this gives me more time to find more sponsors and get more SWAAGG!



I will ensure the website is updated regularly with the latest info.

The final decision will be made no later than Thursday at 8pm

The 29th is fred hall del mar.

I'm all for postponing the event for another weekend. It's supposed to be a fun event. It won't be any fun fishing in this weekends weather conditions. Sunday is supposed to be very windy also.
When are you going to make the call?

X2 and to be quite honest with you if the event is held Sunday I will probably start heading home around 3pm...............I have to be at work at 4am Monday morning.

I wont be there if Sunday as well. First off I am supposed to be working and second I am not going to go fight the wind while drifting deep rock piles. that is just no fun.

I don't know about others but my calendar for March is already filled and I have another tournament that day that i have to attend.

If an April date is chosen keep in mind Day at the Docks is Sunday the 13th.

16 of March.....other tournaments scheduled already.

I'm out as for Sunday as well as about 5 other guys I know that I got to sign up. One is a Preacher and the other four go to his church. Plus Ed won't be able to make it either and I know he wanted to be around for presenting the rods and stuff

Saturday April 5th is my last offer. There is no way to make everyone happy. I'm working with you guys as much as I can

I agree, you will not make everyone happy but at least you'll give most of us time to reschedule and or schedule things around that date...........I'm in!
