The Official 2013 Team Sewer vs. Team Lollipop challenge.

TEAM SEWER vs TEAM LOLLIPOP
Official 2013 BWE Team Challenge

The Wager
The losing team will have to hold up signs on the La Jolla webcam for all of BWE to see, paying tribute to the winning team and admitting defeat while wearing an outfit or costume seemed most fit by the winning team. This is a wager not of money, but of humility.

The Teams

Team Sewer
Stinky Matt (Matt)
jorluivil (Jorge)
Ful-rac (Tony)

Team Lollipop
Drake (Neill)
RobFish (Rob)
Wade (Wade)

Challenge structure
Points are aquired 4 different ways.

Category (A) - Benchmark fish. The team to post the first benchmark fish for each category will receive the points. The benchmark fish sets the pace for B

Category (B) - Trade up fish. Each fish posted that weighs more than the previous fish of the same species will be worth B points. Each team has their own progressive trade up scale

Category (C) - Single fish weight. The team with the single heaviest fish in each category will receive C points

Category (D) - Combined weight. The team with the heaviest combined weight of each anglers heaviest fish will receive D points
  • Competition Starts Jan 15th and ends Dec 31st
  • Each team is allowed three starting team members
  • Both teams are allowed to draft one additional member on April 1st
  • Each team will carry a digital scale
  • Only legal sized fish may be used for benchmark and trade up points
  • Fish caught on mothership trips are valid
  • Released fish must be weighed and photographed prior to release
  • Due to the difficulty of weigh/photo/release, thresher sharks have a flat point structure

Catch and Release is highly encouraged.

The points for Yellow tail have been skewed in favor of Team Sewer because of their restricted access, in the same respect the point for Halibut have been skewed in favor of Team Lollipop in category A and B.

Dude,

You guys will get your arses kicked soo bad....

Let's see.

You all live 10 min. From LJ
You all fish 2-3 times a week
Oh yeah, LJ is known to have a fish or two.

We all live 30 to 60 min. from the nearest salt
We each fish 1 time a week
We fish rich waters of Long Beach.

You guys don't stand a chance.
:D
:D
:D

The "Team Sewer" board of directors is in the process of discussing an alternative way to show our fishing dominance.

Stay tuned for PLAN B.;)

GregAndrew 01-01-2013 05:16 PM

How many lawyers did it take to come up with that format? :D And can they screw in a lightbulb?

Deamon 01-01-2013 05:34 PM

Count the on the water hours too. If one team is short in that category, allow them to bring in pinch hitters (from all over) to keep that part even...maybe call it out in advance? Put Mr. Andrew's phone number on speed dial...

No lawyers involved. They would still be working on the initial draft. No, they cannot screw in a light bulb. The bulb is to high up and they are all bottom feeders.

After extensive deliberation and EXCESSIVE bitching from Team Poo Drain, the rules will be changing. Stand by for further updates.

Im trying to figure this 1 out too?

I gots lots of questions,..Especially the skewing format.. Whats the entry fee,Whats payout slots?
It was hard enough competing in W.C.W when I release my bigger models not to be even counted in overall scorecard.
I have been tagging & releasing all my latest :yt:
:yt:score counts are one thing , but Releasing:wsb:
I try not to even take them out of the water at all costs. just unbutton the -40's..
Those Hali's on the other hand this year, won't be so lucky..

Because Team Lollipop is just me and Rob. It was originally going to be Me and Rob vs Jorge and Matt but we all talked and wanted to up the team size, I had to beg Wade to participate but he still doesn't get whats going on

StinkyMatt 01-01-2013 09:18 PM

We figured it out! :eek::luxhello:

ANYONE that wants to have fun and fish with a group knuckleheads can come out and participate.

No money involved. Some humiliating punishment will await the chumps at the end of the year.

We will hold a fish together about every two months.

We will alternate sites, LJ, Dana, L. B. etc.

Each team can bring whatever number of fishermen they want.

Total number of pounds gets divided by number of guys fishing that day. This means that there is no advantage to having more or less people.

We fish for two types of fish at each outing. Together we decide what to target. This prevents the dumb-luck bycatch. This may increase our overall skills and make us into well rounded fishermen instead of focusing our effort on one type of fish.

The team with most pounds per person for that day is the DAY winner.

There will be 6 total fish togethers, about every two months.

First team to 4 points will be declared CHUMPions. The other team will just be CHUMPS.

Just trying to ke it SIMPLEand fun.

So, in the spirit of letting the weaker participant pick first: team Lollipop, pick the first date and place.

:D
