bass fishin was off the hook today! Thank you prowler user for the inspiring post... I was joined by Lou dog and Wiredantz today... good fishing with you guys! next stop...tuggers! and oh my...the tuggers were out in full force today... only one hit on the 5" swimmy, the 4's and the little green blams were the weapons of choice today...first tugger to get the stink off was a little friendly YBRF (released, as all fish were today)... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141540.jpg then the fun began... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141541.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141542.jpg and then Frank's turn... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141544.jpg this was the best swimbait today... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141546.jpg and then it happens... that moment we all fish for... that moment when you hope you put the wood to 'em fast enough to keep 'em outa the rocks... when you know it's a good'n and you hope you get to see it... when I saw this thing I knew it was a contender for a new PB... and I was right...I now have a new PB sandy, 8 lbs on the boga! this thing was a long as my kayak is wide...look at this... this is NOT a wide angle lense...this thing was a freak! http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141547.jpg I'm still just a giggling idiot... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141548.jpg but that's not all...although there were no more PB's, there were still some more good quality bass yet to come... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141555.jpg a nice solid 2 lber for Frank! http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141558.jpg and this one almost hit the 5 mark on the boga, a solid 4.5... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141560.jpg and Lou dog had his day... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141562.jpg a solid 4.75 grumpy ol' tugger.... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141570.jpg and another big 'un... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141573.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141574.jpg there were alot of good fish and the action never really stopped... ...just good clean American fun! No fouls for me 'n' Lou on the landing...here's Lou timin' it right... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141577.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141578.jpg and here's Frank...not so right... http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141579.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141580.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141581.jpg no fish or humans were injured in the making of this post! or...wait...maybe a the little... the bass thumb! |
Totally Awesome Pics and Reports !!!!!! What a great day for sure except for maybe the wipe out.....H:sifone:
|
truely the best report I have ever seen, Frank, I can't say enough about how you let the whole world to actually witness a classic example of how to have "yard saleage", we did about the same in DP, the sandies were on, all the calico were short except for a 9# from a guy that was fishin in the SWBF tourney...water was RRRRRoghHHHH, but a great time, met some nice guys from Kayak Mafia, and Dana Point Jet Ski all good guys, had some burgers afterwards, the winner was a 4.5# sandie, fun time...
anyway thanks for the fish porn....:reel: |
Nice catch. Always good when something is pulling on the end of the line.
|
Lol I had a great time. I broke my record yesterday for the first time in history I caught not one not two But five fish! And 4 were Legal. After everything I learned yakrider told me I had to get baptized. Lol
But as always I expected a yard sale all my my rods were stored inside my yak as well as everything else. The fishing bag the hand pump and my yellow paddle float were all tied to my yak. Nothing was lost excePt for a foot peg I have no idea where it went.:wsb: |

throw me under the bus... real nice! LOL |
What a day... looks like lotsa' fun; great day, great friends, great fishing.
|
Fun day for sure. :reel: Can't wait to get back out & do it again.
Josh :you_rock: It seemed like every time Josh threw his line in the water he got a bite. He is one super fishy dude. I'm glad Frank had all his stuff stowed, it happens to pretty much everyone at some point or another. Quote:
|
:luxhello: those are some fat bass!!!!! Nice day on the water. Chunkers!
|
If anyone can make Bass fishing look fun...it's you!
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...9/P5141548.jpg
Side note: You little tackle-whore you!. The sweetest quiver of custom wrapped, matching, rods and reels to ever grace a kayak, Josh. Now that you've switched to the newer Trini's--- I'm surprised I haven't seen a new set of custom wrapped rods to match! |

oh don't you worry... those trini's are right at home... all three of those rods are new custom Phenix blanks... I can't help it... it's an addiction... and the hybrid 927 is the shortest of the three at 9' 2"... the other two are 966 and 967 at 9'-6" long... super fun to fish with... some guy once told me long rods do belong on the kayak... he was right! I feel like an 8 footer is short now! the next one I want is the 20A... it will fit nicely on my 100j... just have to find some more work first! |
:reel:nice fish gr8 day for you.
|
Nice post, I love this picture!!!
After further inspection I noticed the bait tank sitting backwards....then i noticed the tanks drain dumping right into the open hatch where the bait tank should sit. I dont know who Frank is but, Frank, turn that tank around and strap it down so it seals the inside of the yak and cannot fall out if you ever flip also modify the drain so it in not constantly dumping on the hatch seal. still an awesome pic! |
There is a reason for his madness...it does not fit cause of the hinge in the 2010 models ...the tank came from my older x-factor..
|
IM frank, the big half Mexican with an xfactor. Erick is right. The bait tAnk doesn't fit in the rear hatch and I do not want in there because in case of a flip it will take in so much water. I use the rear hatch as my battery holder for my bait tank and my gps ff. I put my batteries in a dry bag and put it on the red bag on the rear hatch. I then hAve pump to pull water up and there should be a hose to dump it out but I forgOt that hose thAt day and just had the water dumping in the scupper hole. The bait tank run on a 6 volt battery so no timer is needEd. The bait is strapped down along with everything else

thats was EPIC! great pics :you_rock::eek:
