it's me Adi, it's me... (part I)
On June 15 I started early and was ready to head
home by 2pm. With nothing but a couple of fresh frozen squid left. I hate feeding the seals, so, as I approached the reserve bouys I dropped the dead squid down while talking to myself: Oh, what the hell... Nibble nibble, up comes a sand bass. It coughed up my squid, so, down it goes again. Nibble nibble, up comes a calico. Maybe I should keep these things since it's better than coming home with nothing, again. Nah, I know Sammons is watching, better let it go. But, I'm still stuck with the stupid squid. Down it goes again. Nibble nibble, but this time, zing zing, zing pull-pull. I set the hook and feel something heavy and powerful. But only for a minute, then ping. Crap... But then a voice says to me: Farm another one? WTF?? A new group of 5 kayakfisherman approach and start yelling, "They're here!" What's here? I look at my fishfinder only to be amazed. http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...ne_wsb_352.JPG Between us, 30 wsb were caught. Adi, I wish you could of been there. Where were you?? http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...4/unshaven.JPG Adi, I realize your last wsb was a mere 28lbs, but here's a repice a Bosnian Cave Man can make: http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...WSB_Steaks.jpg Let's try Pan Roasting! Simple and quick (less than 1/2hr). Adi, you can start feeding you fam something other than plain white wsb fillets. Here's what you need: http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...a_food_327.JPG Add olive oil in a frying pan that has a lid and can go into the oven, then fry up both sides of Fat WSB Steaks that have salt/pepper and saffron (or Paprika), like this: http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...a_food_328.JPG Just as you get good color on each side, add 1 cup of good white wine, lemon wedges, parsley, and onions. http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...a_food_329.JPG Put the lid on, then pop it into the oven for 15mins. So it looks like this: http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwegall...a_food_331.JPG Enjoy! Adi, remember, this is only Part I... |

Gino, preheat oven during the frying process
at 400F, cook at 375F for 15mins. This method can be used for large pieces of meat, fish or steaks. |
yani, i await eagerly for your WSB steak recipes, as i have steaked mine out like yours, except i stopped steaking at the tail, and did a tail portion fillet.
collar, belly meat and scrap were all saved for individual consumption and soup. nothing will go to waste on this one. |
spectacular!
Yani, you are one insanely good chef. Love the pics of the steaked out fish. Wifes gonna use that recipe tomorrow night to check it out. Tonight I guess we just have to suffer through grilling it.
Nice to see you on the water last week. Keep it going! Chris :sifone: |
That's great, I'm drooling all over my keyboard now!!!! looks yummy.....H:sifone:

WTG Yani!! If it were not for the fact that you and Adi and a couple others catch some fish, everyone else would be eating a lot more bland fish dinners. Keep up the good work.

Yani, that dish looks tasty. Fishing with you has been a blast! That epic wide-open seabass bite that Wednesday was the funnest kayaking experience to date. A big thank you goes out to Josh "the man" who put me right on top of these WSB monsters.
Thanks for posting! this one would not fit in my large Cosco cooler. Attachment 2485 Attachment 2486 |
thanks guys, hope you enjoy and perfect
Pan Roasting Fish Steaks. It works well for Yellowtail and Thresher Shark steaks as well. Don't forget to use fresh ingredients! Also, I've modified the recipe by using 1/2 of wine, and the juice on one lemon. Wade. First off you're a great fisherman and video maker, no doubt!!! But the music?? HOW DO YOU DO THAT??? Come up with current songs??? Is that you singing?? What's Up??!!! The songs are awesome! |
