Sabiki rig storage
 

I was wondering what clever ways you all have come up with to store your Sabiki rigs after you use them to make bait. I know you can always wrap it back up in its own package but once the cardboard insert gets wet it turns to mush.

I do have a Sabiki rod but I don't really want to bring another rod on the kayak with me.

What have you come up with to store your Sabiki rigs after you are done using them for the day?

I wrap the sabiki around a poodle noodle and the store it for later use.

I don't give a shit about it wrap it up in a tight ball and throw it somewhere in the tackle box and untangle over a beer at home takes couple min

A piece of hyperlon, same stuff as the grip on your fishing pole. You can poke the sinker in the end.

Don't over complicate things, its not rocket science, you don't have to take your sabikis off the rod after every trip. I've had these three sabikis (aka the sabiki 250) on my rod close to or more than a year. I've never taken them off the rod and they catch bait each and every trip.

I took a look at their website to get more info and it was horribly designed. They have about ten different types but they don't give you a description of what each type is used for. Only what color they are which tells me nothing lol

Are the yellow ones you posted the ones you use for sabikis?

That's what I'm trying to avoid. By the time I get home after my two hour drive home from fishing I'm beat and don't want another chore to add on top of the rest of the rinsing and cleaning that I already do

I do have an actual Sabiki stick. I'm just trying to avoid bringing another rod with me each trip. I admit this would be the best way to go because the Sabiki rig winds up inside of the rod and remains there until it's needed again. Which solves the storage and tangling issue.

But for now I'm on an old Hank Parker edition outback and the built in crappy rod holders are designed for thin bass rods and not the thicker boat rods we use for salt water. So rod storage is at a premium on my old yak.

I just leave it on the rod and wrap the lead around the handle once. If I ever take it off it's because it's time for a new one.

I don't use a sibiki stick either for the same reason as the other poster. But I almost always just keep the sibiki on the same rod. Lately bait has been tough so I always want a sibiki handy when bait shows. When I do need to or remove one I wrap it loosly and put in a section of a plaino but box. Also I tend to use the cheapest sibikis I can find so if they get tangled badly or lose a few hooks I just put on a new one. Mike

I Just picked up a piece at Sav on tackle. And I also found another way to store them. As posted on another thread I have some old spools of seaguar floro. So I used that up and used the empty spool for the Sabiki and it worked great.

I was cleaning yak , and I grab sibiki with weight attached . Gave it a toss to side , and 3 or 4 oz torpedo buried into me .

Enlighten as to what Sabiki this might be please.. I go through sabikis faster then beer. If the rig makes it home intact, it corrodes away loosing all feathers leaving nothing but a few bare hooks. And yes I ever rinse them off.
