Hey mahi,

This is the site I use.

Pay online and print online. I download as a PDF so if I ever lose it I can print another very easily. Even if you dont know a single word of spanish you can get by fine. And no $10 fee.

Ok so right now:

Pukashell and Domesta Day 1

Makobob and hashem Day 3

Myself, mikescales and monstafish Day 4

The rest of you guys on the trip need to jump in here and partner up and pick a day to cook. Whether it be at the restaurant or at Bobs. There are 7 nights total. Some will leave earlier. There are only 7 people accounted for on a night right now. The other 8 need to pick a night to cook.

Who wants to share a night with me at the restaurant? If we bring the fish they'll cook it up with rice, beans, tortillas, salsa, etc for $5/plate. No need to cook, no clean up, support the local restaurant, like Bob says, that'll leave more time for fishing :reel:

Jefe, please confirm a day you will be cooking or supplying dinner from the restaurant for the group. Days 1, 3, and 4 are taken already. You can pair up with your buddies as there are 15 of us on the trip. Poppers, waxwings, small metal jigs. Rooster are real fast so biggest thing is to make sure you are using a very high speed reel.

Jefe Dos has night 2. Roosters caught on wax wing and medium crock. lot's of iron lost.................bring a few extra. Flys in 1"-4" seem to work best.

I will if you still need someone, I am there the 27th thru the 31st.

makobob 10-17-2016 01:09 PM

If you bring the meat and do the restauant is will cost you $5.00 per person, they can pay their own drinks, But I would really love a nice corvina fillet.

Bob I will probably bring some salmon but I certainly will fish for Corvina hard while I am there and if I get one, to the restaurant it goes.

makobob 10-17-2016 02:34 PM

Nice, a week from NOW we should be fishing an incoming tide towards full. A good corvina tide on the beach.

For those HOBIE guy's There will be a new Hobie 180 reversable drive in camp for you to demo. Tight Lines.

ful-rac 10-17-2016 03:33 PM

Not sure how the new Drive is gonna hold up to sand...it looks like it might get jammed up by it. So if you guys borrow Bobs drive keep the sand off of it! :sifone:

Jefe Dos 10-17-2016 04:00 PM

Makobob,

I have a small cargo trailer with a deep cycle battery I want to charge during the day. I am looking at a 50 watt package that includes the controller and all the wiring to keep this battery topped off so I can charge a tune box to take to the beach, and maybe a couple other electronic devices.

How safe would a small solar panel be set up on the ground or on top of my 5x8 cargo trailer?

makobob 10-17-2016 04:14 PM

At my camp it should be safe, I have 3 diffrent people to keep an eye out. While things sometimes disapear we have been theft free. I leave the camp OPEN except when I am gone, during the day I have no worries and like I said 3 people keep an eye out even when I am around. Should be fine.

We will be spending some time down at the beach some days so we can watch the place a bit. Much appreciated that you have a cool place with people looking out for each other.

Does the restaurant have a name?

I plan on bringing a 3 burner propane stove so we can crank one big meal. If you want to take some pressure off the fishermen we can do our dinner on Monday. We are making a huge pot of jambalaya with some steaks. Either Tri Tip or those marinated hanger/flap steaks from Costco. We are also looking at Shrimp Scampi for an appetizer. We usually make more than we can eat and use the leftover meat for next day sandwiches. You tell me what you need and we can crank out some food for the masses.

makobob 10-17-2016 05:50 PM

I everyone shows on time we should have 15 in camp. I also have a 3 burner Denali stove, and a couple of coleman two burners also a GMG Davey crockett smoker/grill. You might need a big pot. No name restaurant but it sits at the end of the road in on your left, can't miss it. KM 133.75

Hey Mr. Bob do you have a working compressor at camp? I'm thinking about bringing a bottle of air or compressor since last time is was a bit challenging to get my tires filled at the restaurant.

RIGHT NOW 84 degrees, winds at 4 mph, paradise is waiting on us to arrive. Bring lot's of flies and jigs. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and WATER.

fishnstix 10-18-2016 01:46 PM

Do you need pellets for the smoker? I will cook a few tri tips for sandwiches and a tray of baked beans one of the nights dinners...

Headed down on Saturday with a freind

makobob 10-18-2016 02:27 PM

I have some pellets, I think as I was not on the last trip I am not sure. A bag would not hurt. Thanks, Tri Tips YUM. How long and what temp do you use? I have fresh spices for your rub if you use one. The GMG Davey Crockett will hold any temp from 150 to 550 for hours. Never see it fluxuate more then 5 degrees.

Sounds good Sivak. Let's take the 28th for dinner at the restaurant. That'll give you some time to catch the Corvina for dinner! I love the pic of your flyrod Corvina you posted earlier, very cool!!!!!!

Bob, glad to hear that you are packing light.

The dates for the fishing license, show one year.

$10.00 maybe the shop's fee, and the 707 pesos maybe charged by Mexican F&G independently on my CC.

I have to wait for my CC statement.

Since my Spanish is not efficient yet. Up to now I did not want take a chance of ordering on line (like the shop does) by myself.

Next year I will try differently.

Sounds about right 707 pesos is about $38, depending on the exchange rate. Add the $10 and it comes out to $48. You can also purchase the licenses in Mexicali and or San Felipe.

If anyone has the huevos to paddle to the islands I can tow you back

makobob 10-19-2016 12:49 PM

HUEVOS, HUEVOS you say that's only 4.8 miles on a lw tide. Don't take no huevos to do that, just watch out for the wind.
