My yt wound

My guess is a cookie cutter shark bite, I banged out a nice YT last year and here it is with a fresher bite that hadnt healed yet. I am thinking the YT was under a patty relaxing as they do and was bit by one while in deep waters.

Landed a yellow roughly around the same time you caught this one. It also had a mark like that but not quite as bad. 2 experienced friends said it's a lamprey mark.

Caught one Wednesday that had same wormlike things
Everyone here said meat would be safe
Good to go
So I grilled it up
Tasted delicious

pyloric ceca

This thread keeps coming back from the dead.

When I caught this fish last year I was nervous from the wound pictured in the first post. When I cleaned it I was taking a very close look at everything that i usually just rip out and toss. I started to over analyze everything. The inside was completely normal. Yes that is the pyloric ceca, whatever the hell that is. Still not sure what the wound on the outside is from but the lamprey looks possible. I did end up eating the fish although not raw and didn't have any problem.
