going out through the surf your going to get wet and i dont see anyway around that

Getting wet makes sense - but that's what the scuppers are for right?
and if you get cold - just paddle for a while - that always warms me up.
Picked up a wetsuit (spring suit) last night at costco for ~$27 - might use that for the first time out.
