Every month if possible. 118 days last year. Hope to do 7-10 trips this year with two weekend tourneys one late May one early June in San Quintin for Halibut. Maybe two to Asuncion/Abreojos, Possible one to Mag Bay and 4-6 to Gonzaga. Thes trips are EXPENSIVE, usually food drinks and fuel plus your tackle. You can do a week in Gonzaga for about $300 or less if you ride with someone and share fuel costs it is around $200..........

Gorgeous pic. I told one of our factory guys that next time I go back to Minnesota, we better go fishing for some walleye. Even if it's winter, we'll do some ice fishing!
While having lunch in the factory cafeteria, we saw some nice 8 point bucks less than 50 ft from the window! Keep in mind the entire cafe wall was glass.

My folks have a lake home near Aitkin MN now, I grew up waterskiing and fishing for pike, walleye and perch all Summer long on Pelican Lake. I have been dreaming about the boundary Waters since I was a kid...........some day.......

Funny, ^that type of fishing does not inspire me anymore.

rogersmith 03-06-2015 09:04 AM

bucket list:
  • LMB in the teens
  • big yellowtail of the yak
  • maybe travel and fish for peacock bass one day
  • Mothership trip off the Islander
otherwise, I keep my goals pretty simple, enjoy whatever time I get on the water. I am recharged by a simple day of spottie fishing in our bays

Zed, I'd leave the bobbers, night crawlers and leaches home, I would bring some of these for nostalgia sake though :D

I have only been once, but I have some guides I would suggest. I recently planned a trip for my pop and my uncle. They had a blast! Highly reccommend AK for a bucket list!

My list...

Baja with Makobob
Trip 2 to Alaska
Another long range tuna trip, 6 days or more
A yellow from my yak
A LMB from my yak
A halibut (cali) > 17# from my yak
I really don't care, I just want to fish as much as possible because it makes me so happy!

And giant inline spinners.

You never know, a pocket full of leaches might be useful first aid.

Where did your Dad go on his Alaska trip?
Where do you want to go in Alaska.
Maybe you can come with Makobob and us to Punta Abreojos or Mag Bay the end of the year?
Where do you fish for LMB in San Diego?, I go to Otay but it can be tough going.
