I just got a fishing kayak x-factor from the same weekend sale. I am thinking of putting live well in front hatch and installing a rudder.

I also have some new questions and I hope I am not derailing your post...

If you are using live bait in La Jolla where are you getting it? I didnt think there was a bait barge in that area.

Careful adding too much weight forward. You want your bow to ride up and over swells/chop unencumbered.

Bait - Sabiki rigs to catch your own.

I have been kayaking for a while in Colorado and here in SD but never kayak fishing until recently. Where are you storing your catch?
