it's actually just electrical tape pulled tight and wrapped. keeps the bait on better without a barb and the fish won't feel the steel hit their teeth and drop the bait.

I do have a small leather belt. it helps alot. i just didn't have it on in that pic with the 9/0 since i had just hooked up. Hannah took the pic then strapped me in. :D
