I was going to ask if the tips you got here had anything to do with it... :)

Amazing what a piece of iron can do, hah? :viking:

Congratulations again on your amazing catch.

Up in Adriatic Sea, those amber jacks are reffered to as "gof". How do you guys call them in Israel? I caought a couple of them while fishing in Adriatic, but nothing over 10lbs.

That catch of yours has got to be some sort of a record, certainly from the kayak.

Menash,

Great story and photos-Looking at that beast it reminds me that our La Jolla Yellowtail :yt: are actually "Jack Tuna" and are related to your fish. It's not that big of a world after all-
Keep sending your interesting reports and take that kid fishing.

in israel we call the amberjack - eintias
he is the reletive of your yellowtail.
the tips that andy and avery gave me last year was about the rods and reels.
avery bought with hime the reels last june and me and 3 of my friends are the pioonirs to work with conventionl reel in israel and the conseption proved herself last week.
if i will have to buy new reel , its never going to be spining just conventional.

Thats an enormous forker!
Your story and pictures are great! If I were you, I would contact any of the gear manufacturers that you use. Maybe after they see your great result, they might replace some of your gear for free! Especially since the use of the conventional reel might be somewhat new to your area. It would be great advertsement for them.
