Let the POLL CONTINUE:!!!! 425 views and only 26 people voted???
What i have been taught and what i agree on... ( You can disagree or agree ) Post your comments and put in your answer in the poll. (its raining so pull out the popcorn) :p Matt aka Stinkymatt, always gives me a earful for not posting current on the water reports. I use to post current on the water reports, but I use to get alot of hate messages. So now I wait a few weeks on public forums. I Also don't like to post my honey holes but I'll share a hot bite with my fellow kayakers by private messages. Especially the people who helped me learn to fish. Most of the people who share hot bites don't want me to post a bite so I follow their wishes, since they spent countless of hours to find it. On the other hand if someone wants to share a hot bite, I do not care. I just won't post one myself because I have been taught the underground kayakfishing laws by my teachers. Have I been taught wrong? I don't think so. I use discretion now on what i post. Quote:
Josh said" learn to read between the lines" so I have, but it also helPs having friends that share current intel by pm. I do like this site very much, I met most of you through the site. I am also able to get a fishing buddy through this site whenever I go out. So to finish my story: I will protect a hotbite because that is what I have been taught. I for one HATE trying to fish in a crowded spot, but I'll do it. Go out and fish you won't catch anything by reading this and you won't find your own honey holes if you just stay at home. The ocean is big, make some friends and go out. Have fun -frank Quote:

Rain sucks . . .
All we get in the forum on days like today. . . Non-sense.
Bring back the sun. bring back the fish porn. Whether the report is hot off the press on a WFO bite or two weeks old, I'll read AND enjoy it. I think I'm #5. |
Forget SEALS, I wannt be a TUNA

From my experience, SEALS are average fisherman at best. The CAG bubba's are the one's who really know how to fish. ;) |

Basically your damned if you do damned if you don't. I mean you just can't win. For example a few years back I caught I decent C-bass at La Jolla while fishing alone one afternoon. No wide open squid bite just a lone slug I got dropper looping a mack. Got some tourists to take a pic almost right where I got it. I waited a month to post about it and even photoshopped the location before I put the pic up, and I instantly got shit for posting the wide open bite. Maybe fate set it up so I actually posted the altered pic during a new hot bite, in a new location but more likely it was just someone that wanted to start shit. Likewise last spring I posted a single pic of a friend and his seabass with something along the lines of "They are out there!" On another yak site. You couldn't tell the location from the pic but more importantly there was no wide open bite to spoil. My buddy just picked up a single fish by waiting them out and being in the right place at the right time. Evidently some other jerkoff saw the pic, had fished that day, and since he did not get one (there was only one caught) he got his panties in a big wad. Next thing I know this jerk has emailed all his buddies and they are all complaining that I had single handedly ruined a bite that never existed. The irony was that none of those guys got any seabass at that location for months, precisely because it never went wide open, and my friend manged several more over then next few months just picking them up one at a time by waiting them out. Dude you know who you are congrats again!!! Bottom line there are no standards and as a result people just give shit to who they want to. Some can post fish right in the middle of bite and don't get shit at all. Others post things that could no way effect the bite and people go after them using it as an excuse even though their real agendas have nothing to do with the particular posting, the actual fishing conditions or even the bite, if it exists or not. At this point personally I'm like: Why bother. There are some in the internet fishing scene that are always going to be a-holes, it's in their nature and unlike normal people they have nothing else to do with their lives other then sit around on a few message boards, give people shit all day, or make up a bunch of childish drama behind the scenes. I personally don't need the aggravation. Fighting with such retards is retarded. Now that I no longer post much I have much more time for things I really enjoy like actually fishing, building new things, women and drinking. Works for me!! Jim |
Most people in category 5: (Those who don't care to post).
Are created by people in category 4. (Those who jump on someone's ass for posting). Someone who is not all that bothered by having a few more kayaks or boats on the water. Someone who believe the impact is limited and would prefer to welcome new people in the sport because it is a fair and positive trade-off. Someone who appreciate reading and enjoy reporting on timely conditions. Ends up choosing NOT posting because they don't want to deal with the drama that is created by those in category 4. The evolution of the kayak fisherman, if going from: -> Newbie who come to read -> Fisherman who read and share -> Fisherman who no longer share Should result in a constant state of reporting by the second group, if there is a constant inflow of fresh blood into the sport. The website would remain in a fairly steady state where there is always a group of people willing to share their reports. The site would not change even though the individual fisherman evolves from one category to the next. But that is not the case we have here. Here, we find the website itself have evolved from one that used to have timely reports to one that does not. The possible causes are: either there is a reduction in the number of people getting into this sport so there is a reduction in the numbers progressing into group 2 from group 1. Or, there is an increase in the number of people who jump on others asses for reporting. I believe it is the latter reason that caused the change in this website. |

LOL, I can't believe, You revived that old post. :p
All I wanted was a fishing buddy that memorial day, and out came Kayak Turf Wars. By the way 1000 Views and only 39 voted. Please do not attack anyone for their opinions if they choose to write one. I just want to get a count of the ACTIVE USERS of B.W.E. but it is also very interesting to see the amount of views in relationship to the people who voted. |
