The material Buff is made out of is a proprietary fabric / Coolmax and is about as thin as you can get without being naked.
The other manufacturers that are making knock off "Face-Socks", have annoying seams, thick material thats almost unbreathable ect.

I seat my buff just on the middle/ bridge of my nose and barely use a tiny dab of "zinka" stick for the bridge of my nose only, and i get no exposure to sun. no fog to my glasses, and can see the :yt: fine!! & I dont even notice I'm wearing anything! At night/early mornings I use it to keep warm and the wind off.
